Welcome to this week’s Arena Sports Bar blog.

This week we welcomed the Bradford City Women’s football team to the bar. The team was also joined by a reporter from the Telegraph and Argus who took a photo of the team with owner Dominic at the front.

 

 

The night was a great night with a quiz and raffle with all proceeds going to the women’s football team which, is much needed for the forthcoming season.

 The women’s team played a pre-season game against Copsewood ladies and won 2-1 nice win there!  All who attended really enjoyed themselves and said they would be coming back to our bar.

This week we are holding the event everyone has been talking about.

 

 

 

 Gracing us with his presence is none other than world renowned DJ, Scott Page! Scott will be on the decks both Friday and Saturday nights along with guest dj’s and there will be giveaways. As with all our events, entry is completely free of charge. Both nights start at 9pm and will still be going strong throughout the night so, come down early as this event is going to be MASSIVE and, dance until your socks fall off. Please tell your friends and family along with other clubbers young and old. This is an over 18’s event and we will not accept anyone in tracksuits.

 

Here at the bar we like to help charity’s where possible. On August 17th Tracy Gould is going to attempt to break a Guinness world record by holding a Zumba session at the Provident Stadium (Odsal). Tracy, who has suffered from Cancer and now is in remission is hoping that this record attempt will also raise awareness and  much needed funds for treatment and research into cancer.

Coming up towards the end of August we are holding a night for the Bradford Bulls fans.

 

For one night only, we will be welcoming Bradford Bulls player’s Matt Diskin and Jarrod Sammut to the bar for bartending and meet and greet. We will be giving a donation to the player’s charity of choice. Come on down and meet the lads, all are welcome including children. Please spread the word to all the Bulls fans you know and have yourself a drink poured by either Jarrod or Matt.

Wow what a week we have had here at Arena. The sun has been shining and the bar has continued to attract more people.

 

 We have now framed the City shirts which have been signed by Wayne Jacobs and Danny Forrest along with the fully signed shirt donated to us from Bantams Banter.

 We have been working tirelessly with local musicians and sports teams to bring you more and more events.

We all like something for FREE don’t we? Well here at the Arena Sports Bar our events are free entry and we only choose the very best in entertainment for your pleasure.

Not only are we a sports bar but, we are also a music venue too. If anyone would like to come and showcase their musical talents then, come on down and ask to speak to either Derek or Dom who will gladly be of assistance.

Throughout this week we have been holding a FREE live music event featuring the very best handpicked buskers.

Whilst you sit back and relax in style with a cold drink you have been entertained by the following artists;

Monday

 We had Jacob Crawshaw singing for us. Jacob never fails to amaze us with his talented voice and friendly interaction with all who he meets. Jacob is a regular artist at the bar and gives 100% every time he is here.

 Today

 We have had the multi-talented Route Acoustic from midday until 3pm. Route Acoustic is the Acoustic duo consisting of brother and Sister Richard and Hannah Sanderson. They both sing while Richard plays the guitar and Hannah the ukulele. They started gigging together in Bradford in 2011 and have been going around various different venues since then. They also busk together around West Yorkshire and in 2012 they were on series 2 of The Voice UK. Hannah is currently studying music and drama at Hull University whilst Richard is hoping to study music performance when he goes to university.

Thursday

  Another talented duo, Liam and Frankie singing live and free for your entertainment so call in and have a listen whilst enjoying a refreshing drink.

 

In sports news here at the bar we are very pleased to announce we are the sponsors of Bradford Park Avenue’s under 13’s squad.

 

 

The team have won over 20 trophies in just under 2 years and are always on the lookout for new players.

Saturday 17th August

Do you want to be a world record holder? If so you can become one by joining in a fundraising zumba session.

 

The event will be held at the Bradford Bulls Provident Stadium. To beat the current world record, the Zumba session will have to last 40 minutes with a minimum of 7,000 participants gates will open at 12pm and the record attempt is to take place from 2pm.

Friday 23^rd August

Calling all Bradford Bulls fans!!

 

We are pleased to announce that on the evening of 23^rd August we will have 2 yes 2 Bradford Bulls players bartending. Come on down and meet the lads and be served a drink by a player. All are welcome and we shall be making a donation to a charity of the player’s choice. Children are welcome and the lads will be available for pictures. We will be revealing the names of the players in the next few weeks so, look out for their names in the next editions of our blog.

Successful Event

 

What a fantastic week we have had down here at the bar with the highlight of the week being the charity night with Wayne Jacobs.

Saturday night was the One In A Million charity night and we were joined by Wayne Jacobs and Danny Forrest.

The night started  with Jacob Crawshaw singing live for us. This guy is hugely talented and is a must see for all.

Wayne then did the question and answer session and was truthful and professional.

We also did a raffle with various different prizes and we sold tickets at £1 each with all money going to the charity.

We were also joined on the night by local business lady, Jay Willey. Jay is a very nice, kind and honest woman and we would like to say thank you for coming down and seeing what we are all about and hope to see you a lot more in the future.



 We would like to say a massive thank you to Wayne, Danny, Jacob and everyone who attended this successful event and, also to all the businesses who donated the raffle prizes. Their kind donations were very much appreciated.  We will be doing another question and answer session with Wayne and details can be found further down in the events section.

 

This week we have been fortunate to plan an event for the Bradford City Women’s team. The team has now become part of the bar and we will be displaying their trophies and various other things. We have a lot of events planned for the forthcoming future and things are getting bigger and better.

And with our newly installed TV screens and now 4 boxes you are even more spoilt for choice on what sport you would like to watch. We can show 4 different live events all at once.

  

 We now have Premier sports so, championship rugby league and NRL games plus whatever sporting events that are shown can be requested at the bar.

If you want to watch anything specific then please feel free to ask at the bar and our friendly bar staff will be happy to help in any way they can.

 

We will be showing the Bradford Bulls VS Hull F.C LIVE sky match on our big screens. All Bulls season ticket holders will receive 25% discount upon production of their season ticket ( not in conjunction with the drinks already on promotion) to the bar staff. Why not come in pre match for a drink and maybe post match too?

With all this hot weather why not call in for a refreshing drink? Our bar is nice and cool for you to cool down in and take the weight off your feet and relax in comfort and style on our leather sofas.

Saturday 17^th August 2013

 

Zumba World Record Attempt

War on Cancer, a new charity for men and women suffering from cancer in the Yorkshire area are hoping to break a Guinness world record for the largest-ever Zumba class.

The fund-raising event on the Provident Stadium pitch is being held with the aim to help War On Cancer fund research to eradicate cancer for future generations and help those diagnosed to fight it.

The charity has been set up by Tracy Gould, who works in the Provident Stadium ticket office and has undergone treatment for breast cancer. Tracy is currently in remission.

Zumba is a group exercise class that combines Latin and international music with dance and the session – which we hope will smash the current world record of 6,671 participants and pass the 7,000 mark – will be held on Saturday, August 17 at 2.00pm.

Tickets are £5 and can be purchased from the Provident Stadium ticket office or £5.50 from www.tracygouldwoc.blogspot.com.

The Provident Stadium gates will open at 12 noon with the Zumba World Record attempt set to take place at 2.00pm.

 

Saturday September 14th 2013

After a hugely successful Q&A evening, Wayne Jacobs is eager to come back and hold another Q&A session. This will be before Bradford City’s home game against Colchester and will be from 12pm-1pm.

Other Ex City players will be in attendance and will be confirmed in due course.

This weeks Special Event

We have been very busy these past 2  weeks  organising this weeks special event with Wayne Jacobs and his charity One In A Million.

This Saturday is a charity night for the charity and, Wayne Jacobs will be doing a Question and Answer session along with an auction and raffle. Here are just a few of the items for the auction and raffle;

With great pleasure we have been given 4 V.I.P tickets for the Bradford Bulls VS Hull F.C next Friday ( 19th July ) This prize includes a meal, premium seating in the coral stand and a free parking pass. Robbie Paul will be hosting the dining room pre match and the winners will also be able to see the man of the match presentation after the game. We would like to say a massive thank you to the Bradford Bulls for this superb donation.

 

Here is a top of the range DVD  player which has been kindly donated by  Licenced Trade Services. Thank you for your kind donation.

Here we have a very trendy and top of the range Bluetooth speaker. Powerful sound supported by wireless music streaming via Bluetooth. Bass reflex  speakers deliver a powerful deeper bass. Thank you to T Mobile for this kind donation.

Here we have a very kind donation by a local clothing shop here in Bradford. AN-X have donated 2 Bradford City Wembley memorabilia T-shirts. Thank you for this great donation.

 

Another Bradford based company, Sidats mobile phone shop on ivegate have kindly donated a mobile phone for our auction.

 The mobile phone is a Blackberry 9300 Thank you for your kind donation.

 

Here we have a brand new bottle of Patron XO Cafe Tequila Coffee Liqueur 70 cl. This is a brand new drink which has just come out and is, a coffee liqueur made with tequila and comes from Mexico. The alcohol % is 35%. Along with the unopened bottle you will also receive 6 official Patron shot glasses.

This mountain bike has been kindly donated to us from our brewery company, H.B Clark & CO and is completely brand new straight out of the box. Thank you for your kind donation.

 

 

Here we have a full unopened bottle of Jagermeister complete with 4 official Jagermeister shot glasses plus, a Jagermeister flag, poncho, flip flops and sun glasses.

Here we have a fully signed T shirt from all of last seasons Bradford City team kindly donated by Bantams Banter. Thank you lads for your kind donation.

Here we have had a very  kind donation from one of our customers. Irish Pattsy has kindly donated 3 pictures from his Bradford City collection to be auctioned off. Thank you for your very kind donation.

 

We have had a very special donation from a Bradford Based company BedzRus

Here is a Soccer Single Bed and  is a football themed bed with a curved headboard, this single size bed frame has a white finish with a sprung slatted base. Not only have we had a bed donated, we also have a bedside table to go with the bed.

Also in attendance on the night will be members of the Bradford City Women's Football Club along with many others.
Please come on down early to avoid disappointment as our venue will be packed out and take advantage of our drinks promotions and great atmosphere with fun friendly staff on hand to help.
Here at Arena Sports Bar we have decided to open from 9am each and every day of the week. During the week we will close at 11pm but, we will stay open late on Friday and Saturday nights.

Not content with the T.V screens we already have, we now have installed 2 new T.V's and have added a 4th box so we can now show 4 live sports simultaneously. So for instance we could show, football, rugby, golf and cricket all at the same time.
For the Rugby League fans wishing to see the 3rd State Of Origin game, we now have Premier Sports and will be showing the 3rd game LIVE on Wednesday 17th July from 10.30am.

We now have Bradford Bulls donated signed shirts and, 2 Bulls players are going to be bar tending and will be given a donation to their charity of choice. To find out when the players will be here, keep a look out for the link and information here on our blog.

Do you or have you been to the Village on Sackville street?

 

 The venue has had a takeover and a whole new refurbishment inside with brand new lighting and sound equipment which is state of the art for that extra night clubbing experience. There are drinks promotions all night long and, doors open at Midnight till 6am on a Friday and Saturday. Strict but fair door policy with  friendly staff on hand to make your clubbing experience a great experience, Why not head up to the Village after visiting us for a few drinks?
